Based on the British Royal Family The Crown has remained quite successful in grabbing the attention of viewers. Just two months ago Netflix dropped the fourth season of this popular series. Fortunately, it too got the responses like the previous three seasons. The thriller has succeeded in crossing 8.5 stars on the IMDb, TV.com, and more than 91% percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

If you are also a fan of this series then to tell you about the updates of the forthcoming season we have made an entire list. So, let me begin:
Has Netflix Announced The Crown Season 5 release date?
Well, the reports of the Deadline say that next season will arrive by 2022 and the shooting will begin from after June 2021. While main lead Imelda Staunton in a conversation with This Morning revealed that the recording of The Crown Season 5 episodes will begin from July 2021.
At the beginning of 2020, Staunton had mentioned to EW that still, her investigation for her character is “ongoing”. At the same time, she also predicted that the shooting of season 5 has been shifted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and also because other show productions have halted.
She elaborated, “I think everything in the world is going to get pushed on, isn’t it?. So who knows? I’ve been chipping away at it quietly.”
Deadline also revealed the reason behind the maker’s intent of starting the shoot of the drama from June 2021. The entertainment media mentioned that a break-off is usually taken in between the fourth installment and fifth installment of series so that creators can make alterations in the cast of the drama.
The shooting of the first season and the second season took place at the same time but they launched in 2016 and 2017 and a similar thing happened with the third and fourth seasons of the series.
How Will The Crown Season 5 Plot Be?
The last season of the series winded up by showing the conclusion of Margaret Thatcher’s era in Number 10 Downing Street, in 1990. It hints that next season will initiate from an entirely fresh span along with a new British PM John Major.
John has remained PM from 1990 to 1997, this can become a pure terminating note for season 5 if drama runner Peter Morgan is planning to show mysterious car accident and demise of Princess Diana(she lost her life in August 1997).
The beginning of 1990 turned out to be utmost painful for British Family. Princess Anne disunited, Prince Andrew divided from Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson and Prince Charles and Princess Diana also split(up), out setting ‘The War of the Waleses’ along with damaging the clean picture of the pair.
Also, the 1992 biography framed by Andrew Morton’s failed badly, disclosing Princess Diana’s bulimia. And just 3 years down, Diana delivered a fiery interview to Martin Bashir on BBC One’s Panorama, where she independently talked regarding the relationship of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles. She said, “There were three of us in the marriage.”
Who Will Be Part Of The Crown Season 5 Cast?
Well, a big modification has been done to the cast of season 5. This time probably the best acting talents will play the roles of the 90’s era royals. Even though the names of Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Margaret, Prince Philip, and Princess Diana are out still drama lovers are curious to know who is going to play the character of Camilla Parker Bowles and Prince Charles.
Variety has revealed that Dominic West(The Affair) can deliver the role of successor to the throne.
Imelda Staunton will display the character of Queen Elizabeth II. Drama runner Peter Morgan mentioned to Deadline, “I’m absolutely thrilled to confirm Imelda Staunton as Her Majesty The Queen. Imelda is an astonishing talent and will be a fantastic successor to Claire Foy and Olivia Colman.”
While talking to This Morning in October 2020, Staunton revealed that she has begun doing her homework by viewing the recordings of the monarch prior to the shooting of summer 2021.
In season 5, Lesley Manville will present the character of Princess Margaret. The Phantom fame has replaced Helena Bonham and Vanessa Kirby. Both of them have delivered the role of Princess Margaret in earlier seasons.
“I could not be happier to be playing Princess Margaret, the baton is being passed on from two formidable actresses and I really don’t want to let the side down,” Lesley Manville mentioned.
She further included, “Furthermore, to play siblings with my dear friend Imelda Staunton will be nothing short of a complete joy.”
She also described the stress of playing the character of Princess Margaret for The Crown season 5 episodes by saying that she is going through books and repeatedly viewing the series to make herself ready.
