The 100 Season 8 – What Is The 100 All About?
The 100 starts with a nuclear apocalyptic attack that destroys a large part of the human race and life. It is after many years of this battle that we come across a group of survivors who have decided and come together to live on the Ark that happens to be a space station orbiting the earth.
Ark is able to sustain three generations of humans who have resided there – from their births to their growth and living, everything happens in the space. However, after one point, the life-support systems in this new habitat start collapsing. In search of habitat and survival, hundred adolescent criminals are decided to be sent to the Earth to discover if the planet can be inhabited again or if it can provide some resources for the inhabitants of Ark.
Surprisingly, after they land upon the earth, these youngsters find out that some people survived the nuclear apocalypse and their generations are still alive. The inhabitants of the earth live amongst themselves as the Grounders, the Reapers, and the Mountain Men. The Ark-juveniles start a journey of survival in the harsh and testing atmosphere on the earth along with the threat posed by the communities.
With Clarke and Bellame leading from the front, they try to find a way through the difficulties and get back in touch with Ark. In the subsequent seasons, many new twists and turns strike the storyline as these juveniles, the communities on earth, and the people from Ark cross paths.

The 100 Season 8 Release Date – Do We Have A Confirmed Premiere Date For Season 8?
The seven-season-long journey of the drama started on March 19, 2014, with 14 episodes. The second and third seasons were aired with 16 episodes each on October 22, 2014, and January 21, 2016, respectively. The next three seasons had 13 episodes each with the fourth releasing on February 1, 2017, the fifth releasing on April 24, 2018, and the sixth season premiering on April 30, 2019.
The seventh season of the series came out on May 20, 2020, with 16 episodes. Now, what about The 100 Season 8?
Well, the eighth season of the series has been called off by the makers. Both the original creators CW as well as the streaming platform Netflix have already announced that the eighth season would not see the light of the day. The show has met its end in the seventh season itself and this was announced before the season got on the air.
We do not have the exact idea but we do know that the decision was made after quite some discussions. It does not look like there exists a scope for changes. The seventh season of the show is going to stay the last season in the series. However, there is a spin-off of The 100 that is going to be delivered for the fans.
The buzz about the spin-off started back in 2019 and it is expected to be delivered soon. We expect to get a release date or an announcement about the same in 2022 itself.
The 100 Season 8 Cast – Who’s In And Who’s Out Of Season 8?
We cannot really discuss the cast for the eighth season since it is not going to happen. However, if this would not have been the case, the major cast of the show would have remained the same. Let us take a quick look back at all the major characters in the journey of the drama –
The 100 saw Eliza Taylor playing the role of Clarke Griffin while Bob Marley played another juvenile from the Ark, Bellamy Blake. In the character of Monty Green, we have had Christopher Larkin. Marie Avgeropoulos stepped in as Octavia Blake in the series. Paige Turco was enacted as Abigail Griffin. Eli Goree filled in the space for Wells Jaha while Thomas McDonell as Finn Collins. Kelly Hu also joined the cast as Callie Cartwig.
There are so many characters that we cannot mention them all. These are just a few in the list that we expect to see as and when the spin-off arrives.
The 100 Season 8 Plot – Can We Guess A Plot For The Next Season?
The honest answer is no and this is not because we can’t but because there would be no next season. The 100 Season 8 has already been cancelled by the makers and the story has been ended in the seventh season.
Season 7 witnessed the residents of Sanctum struggling and looking forward to establishing and maintaining peace. Also, Clarke, Bellamy, and others face another set of threats. Ultimately, the end of the Dark Commander leads to the establishment of transcendence. New facts are discovered and the characters meet or decide the next steps that would be taken in their lives.
The seventh season has already marked the end of The 100. It is futile to think of the plot to go further. However, a spin-off has somewhere been hinted and we can hope that something interesting comes out of it.
