The god comes into contact with a high school girl named Hiyori. The peculiar thing about Hiyori is that her soul slips out of her body. Yato promises to cure her.
As the journey progresses, Yato meets a lost spirit, Yukine, whom Yato takes in and uses as a weapon.
Further, these three bond and form a family.
