When Will BBC-One Announce Doctor Who Season 13 Release Date?
On 1st January 2021, BBC cleared that the show will be back with another season. The 13th season is all set to arrive in the second half of 2021. The season will premiere on BBC One network, as per a podcast conducted by Radiotimes featuring the executive producer of the series. This is the third time consistently when Chris Chibnall has given his services as head writer and executive producer to the series.
The shooting of the third season has started in November 2020 and it can be finished in the next 10 months. The series is facing several obstacles in filming due to the COVID-19 limitations implemented by the nation’s government and that’s why BBC hasn’t disclosed the specific release date of Doctor Who Season 13, so we will have to wait for few upcoming months to know the exact release date of season 13.
Due to the hurdles that are coming in the way of the filming of the series, the creators have decided to reduce the episode’s number in the upcoming season. The next season will have only 8 episodes which are 3 less than its conventional number of 11 episodes.
How Will Doctor Who Season 13 Plot Be?
Unfortunately, till now we haven’t received any clues about the plot of the upcoming season. It’s a bit hard for us to anticipate the story of the next season without any hints. However, by doing this showrunners can’t stop us from predicting the storyline of Season 13. Somewhere, you know that the Doctor will encounter Daleks but before this, she is required to make herself free from the high-security alien lock-up where she is incarcerated.
Fortunately, John Barrowman has returned as Captain Jack Harkness to provide support to her and her friends. It won’t be wrong to say that the Doctor Who Season 13 will give us an extended storyline similar to The Timeless Child and The Lone Cyberman. Actually, the huge Timeless Child discloses really developed few entire fresh riddles that will be seen in the forthcoming season comprising Doctor’s real roots, and the identity of The Division organization.
Chibnall elaborated the forthcoming episodes as “mad, exciting, funny and scary. And look, there’s the Doctor. There’s the TARDIS in new places, new locations. Just seeing that lifts the soul. She’s on new adventures. She’s back-saving people and worlds.” The lines were delivered by the tweet of Doctor Who official page.
Who Will Be The Part Of Doctor Who Season 13 Cast?
BBC hasn’t shared many details about the cast of the 13th season. But reports of trusted sources like DigitalSpy suggest that Jodie Whittaker will return in the 13th season to play his role of Doctor. While talking to Entertainment Weekly, Jodie disclosed that she will be back in action in the Doctor Who Season 13.
She told, “I’m doing another season. That might be a massive exclusive that I’m not supposed to say, but it’s unhelpful for me to say [I don’t know] because it would be a massive lie! At some point, these shoes are going to be handed on, but it’s not yet. I’m clinging on tight!”
However, two guys from her group won’t be seen in the 13th season. Graham (Bradley Walsh) and Ryan (Tosin Cole) are removed from the series. The duo left the drama at the conclusion of Revolution of the Daleks that premiered on New Year’s Day. Apart from Jodie Whittaker, Mandip Gill will also comeback in the next season. He will portray the character of Yasmin Khan in Doctor Who Season 13.
A new actor namely John Bishop is also ready to enter the cast as Dan. Sacha Dhawan is also interested in returning to the series, it seems that he has forgotten the final moments of ‘The Timeless Children’. Michelle Gomez, who has portrayed the character of Missy also wants to enter the 13th season. However, it’s unclear whether they will become part of the series or not.
