KonoSuba is a popular anime based upon a Japanese light novel that goes by the same name. The text source for this anime has been written by Natsume Akatsuki with illustrations from Kurone Mishima. The series has already come up with two successful seasons and even a film, after which the wait for KonoSuba Season 3 has been on for years now.
The show is centered around Kazuma Sato, a teenage boy who ends up in fictional surroundings, emerging from the fantasy-bearing minds of the creators, after his sudden death. The initial two seasons of KonoSuba and the movie have been based upon the first five volumes of the light novel. With the third season, we have expectations that it would be an adaptation of the next two volumes in the light novel series.

KonoSuba Season 3 – Introduction to the anime!
The first two seasons of KonoSuba: God’s Blessing On This Wonderful World have been based upon the volumes of a Japanese light novel that shares the same title.
It revolves around a young teen boy, Kazuma Satõ as its central character. Kazuma Sato has an untimely and unfortunate demise. After his death, Kazuma interestingly lands up in a fantasy world. Goddess Aqua reincarnates this teenage boy in a parallel world and not just this, he is bestowed with some MMORPG elements as well that embark on a new journey for him.

Kazuma Sato and Goddess Aqua join hands and this alliance leads to the formation of a party. Over time, other characters also become a part of this gang. Megumin and Darkness are the two other important characters who join Kazumo and the team.
This gang gets ready and aims to register a victory over the Demon King. Kazuma’s adventures and battles follow next in the sequence of events and set up the plotline for the anime.
Will there be Season 3 of KonoSuba?

An announcement surely has been made some months back about the release of something related to KonoSuba. While some (including us) expect and believe that it is a call for Season 3, there are a few others who might take it as the call for another film in the line.
That is why we say, it is most likely confirmed in the most direct or indirect ways!
Even if it is not the third season, there is a movie coming up and the situation is definitely a win-win case for the fans!
KonoSuba Season 3 Release Date – When is Season 3 Expected To Premiere?
Two seasons of the series have already been released and the third season has been awaited by the fans for quite some time now. The first season of KonoSuba aired back in 2016 and it was followed soon by a second season in the year 2017. Since then, nearly four years passed with no updates.
On July 18, 2021, there came an official announcement that the anime tv series would be renewed for something interesting on our platter which is likely a hint towards KonoSuba Season 3. Though it could also be an indication towards a sequel film, however, our feeling is that the probability is higher on the side of Season 3.

As of now, we do not have any sources that could convey the actual progress that has been made so far. However, if the upcoming project is not a movie but the third season of KonoSuba like we expect, then we look forward to the season being out sometime in 2022.

KonoSuba Season 3 Cast – How Many Characters Are Going To Be The Same?
As KonoSuba Season 3 follows the same story as its previous seasons, the major cast of the anime is most likely to remain the same. The well-known voice artist, Arnie Pantoja would return as Kazuma Sato around whom the anime mainly revolves.
Faya Mata shall return as Goddess Aqua, Kazuma’s first accomplice in the fantasy world while Erica Mendez would lend voice to Megumin. Cristina Vee shall step into the shoes of the character of Darkness. Aka Toyosaki shall come in as Yunyun while Yui Horie would contribute yet again as Wiz.
Other than these major artists, more characters might also be included depending upon the requirement of the story. Let’s wait for some reliable information to be passed and things would become more clear.
What Do We Expect As A Part Of The Plot For KonoSuba Season 3?
The key focus of the movie was on the transformation and the growing bond between Kazuma Sato and Megumin and Season 3 might also give attention to the same. Of course, we also expect that something or the other would be up between Kazuma and the Devil King or his army either directly or as a result of the happenings.
Seventeen volumes of the KonoSuba light novel have already been published so far. Though the writer, as he says, would like to take up the novel sometime in the future and add something, the story, for now, has been completed as far as we know. The first season of the novel was based upon the first two volumes while the second season took up the third and fourth volumes. The fifth volume was covered by a film.
If KonoSuba Season 3 goes by the light novel upon which it is based, it would follow the storyline from the sixth and seventh volumes of the source material. This particular light novel has seventeen volumes in total and if you have an idea about how it progresses, you would naturally have a hint of how the next season would shape up. We won’t give any details over here though because we do realize that spoilers hurt *wink*.
