Kargil Vijay Diwas 2020

Today, our nation is celebrating the 21st Kargil Vijay Diwas to pay tribute to our brave soldiers. On 26th July 1999, India won the Kargil war against Pakistan that happened continuously until 2 months. In that war several Indian soldiers lost their lives, therefore, in their memory, India celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas every year.

Many movies have been also made which depict the story of the Kargil War and the bravery of Indian Soldiers. Therefore, In this article, I’m going to discuss the list of movies that memorizes the Kargil War.

Here is the list of movies based on the Kargil War:

1. Lakshya

Kargil Vijay Diwas

Hrithik Roshan and Amitabh Bachchan starring Lakshay was released in the year 2004. Preity Zinta has played the female lead role in the movie. In the movie, Hrithik Roshan is seen in the character of Karan Shergill (as Lieutenant). Watching Lakshya on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas will be one of the best decisions.

Initially, Karan was an unpurposed person but later he becomes an Army officer. The plot of the movie has been made on the basis of the 1999 Kargil War. The movie has been directed by Farhan Akhtar and its story has been written by his father Javed Akhtar.

 

2. LOC Kargil

LOC Kargil is a very thrilling movie that was released in the year 2003. J.P. Dutta has directed as well produced the movie. The movie includes stars like Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Karan Nath, Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, and several others.

The movie depicts the war that happened between Indian and Pakistan in 1999. The length of the film is 255 minutes making it the 5th biggest Indian film. You can watch this movie on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. It will add more memories to your life regarding Kargil Vijay Diwas.

 

3. Stumped

Stumped is a patriotic movie that depicts the 1999 Kargil War of India and Pakistan. Gaurav Pandey has directed the movie while Raveena Tandon has produced the movie. Alyy Khan and Raveena Tandon have played lead roles in the movie.

The story of the movie begins with Neena who lives along with her husband Major Raghav Seth in a society. In society, several neighbors of Reena live to have identical hobbies. They all are fond of cricket and like to play it and watch it.

Reena feels lonely when her hubby went to Kargil to fight against terrorists. But, after some time conditions changes when she got the news that her hubby is either lost or dead. As the film ends it has been found that her husband is not dead, hence she again link with him.

4. Mausam

Kargil Vijay Diwas

Shahid Kapoor starring Mausam is an Indian Patriotic movie that was released in 2011. Along with Shahid Kapoor, actress Sonam Kapoor has played the lead role in the movie. Pankaj Kapur is the director of the movie.

Film Mausam tells the story of a Punjabi guy (Harinder Singh) who loves a Kashmiri Girl (Ayat Rasool). The story of the movie has been made according to the Kargil War. But they get away due to the war.

5. Dhoop

Dhoop is a 1999 Kargil War-based movie that reached theaters in 2003. The main cast of the film includes Om Puri, Revathi Gul Panag, Sanjay Suri, and Yashpal Sharma. Ashwini Chaudhary has directed the movie Dhoop.

After the death of Captain Rohit in the Kargil War his family was given a petrol pump to meet their household expenses. But, later they have to face severe difficulties from the dishonest government after the family needs the approval to run it.
